First Post

Posted in Uncategorized at 17:13 by Tom Reynolds

This is the first post on my new blog, here is where I will be blogging about pretty much anything not related to my ambulance work. This won’t stop me blogging about my ambulance stuff, but when I run out of inspiration there I may be able to post here.  Also it will let me write about things that would otherwise ‘dilute the brand’ (*shudder*) of my ambulance writing.

This place will also give me a chance to write in different styles, mainly for my own enjoyment and partly for practice.
As I fiddle around with templates, blogrolls and the like this site will change.  I’ll try not to break it too much.  First off I think I need a different header .gif…

Fantastic news. I like the ambulance stuff (lots!) but like the random stuff too.

Congrats on making the move to wordpress. How are you finding it?

/me runs off to add this blog to his RSS feed.

It’s a fair bit different to Blogware, and I have an itchy feeling that I should start learning PHP – but yes, I like the fact that I have more control over this.

You don’t really need to know PHP to get to grips with Wordpress. :)

No, really, you don’t. What you will need to investigate is how the theme/template system works and CSS. There are loads of articles on the wordpress codex and most people in the wordpress.org support forum are more than happy to help.

Either that, or with your following from RAR, just ask in a post on this very blog and I’m sure you’ll get a myriad replies.

Oh, I know I don’t *need* to learn, but it’s the sort of thing I do for fun…

I think I’ve got a hang of the template system (and will muck around with it as I get the time), and I’m a lover of CSS making life simple. Nothing complicated, but then I’m not aiming on doing anything too tricky.
